The SNS505 basket type cast steel strainer is built for lines where a basket construction is preferred over a Y form. It removes solid particles from oil, gas, chemical, refining and utility pipelines, protecting pumps, meters, heat exchangers and control valves downstream. The stainless steel screen element is held inside the body and reached through the bolted-on cover, so routine maintenance does not require dismantling the pipeline.

Size, pressure class, end connection, body material and screen mesh or perforation are all selected against the service conditions of the system, from NPS 1/2" to 20".
