2. Coupling Design and Interface Standards
Type B: Female camlock coupler x male pipe thread. The female socket contains two pivoting cam arms and an internal gasket seat; the opposite end has an integral external pipe thread and through-flow bore.
Cam-and-Groove References: A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487) and applicable EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828 interface designs. Cam levers lock into the annular groove of a matching male adapter.
3. Brass Materials and Manufacturing
Body: Industrial copper-zinc brass alloy, with specified grades such as CW617N or C37700 where applicable. Body production may use brass forging, casting or precision CNC machining according to size and geometry.
Cam Arms and Hardware: Corrosion-resistant metal levers, pivot pins and pull rings; stainless steel hardware options.
Brass selection considers water chemistry, dezincification, ammonia exposure and the service medium.
4. Male Pipe Thread Connections
BSPP Male (G): ISO 228-1 parallel pipe thread.
BSPT Male (R): ISO 7-1 tapered pipe thread.
NPT Male: ASME B1.20.1 tapered pipe thread.
Thread details include nominal size, pitch, engagement length, lead-in, shoulder geometry and suitable sealing method. Standard-size and reducing-thread variants can be manufactured.
5. Compatible Adapters and Cam-Arm Locking
Mating Male Adapters: Type A (female thread), Type E (hose shank) and Type F (male thread), with matching camlock dimensions.
Closing both cam arms engages the male adapter groove and compresses the internal face gasket. Accurate socket diameter, lever travel, pivot alignment and cam engagement support repeatable hand-operated connection. Type DP male dust plugs protect disconnected female sockets.
6. Replaceable Gasket and Service Conditions
Internal Gasket Options: NBR (Buna-N), EPDM, FKM and silicone, selected for fluid and temperature compatibility.
The gasket sits in the female socket and seals against the male adapter's contact face. The separate male-thread joint requires a compatible thread-sealing method.
Working pressure and temperature depend on brass grade, size, gasket, cam hardware, mating adapter, thread connection and operating medium.
7. Critical Dimensions and Surface Finish
Controlled Features: Female socket bore, gasket recess, lever pivot positions, cam-arm engagement, male thread diameter, thread length, flow passage, wall thickness and overall length.
Surface: Natural brass with CNC-finished threads and gasket seat; cleaned and deburred edges. Optional polishing, identification marking and protective packaging are available for OEM specifications.
