This surface AKD sizing agent can be evenly blended with industrial starch and coated on paper surface. The reactive component reacts with cellulose to build a tight waterproof barrier, effectively blocking moisture infiltration and delivering long-term hydrophobic effect for paper products. It solves the slow curing drawback of traditional AKD products. The sizing effect is finalized once the paper passes through the drying cylinder. Factories can directly roll and deliver finished paper, greatly saving warehouse space for curing placement. Different from pulp added AKD, surface sizing method will not cause effective AKD loss in white water circulation and fiber retention process. The active ingredients act directly on the paper surface, greatly improving the effective utilization rate of the sizing agent. While achieving waterproof modification, the composite film formed together with starch strengthens the surface bonding force of paper, effectively improving the printing adaptability of cultural paper and packaging paper, and reducing printing failures such as paper fuzzing and surface picking. The mixed liquid is uniform and stable without delamination, and the workshop only needs simple stirring to complete the preparation. The dense surface protective film can lock the internal fiber moisture of the paper, avoid the gradual weakening of waterproof performance caused by moisture back absorption during long-term storage and cross-regional transportation, and maintain stable physical indicators of finished paper. The transformation cost is extremely low for paper mills.
